17. Self Image

In a trice, a change
a transformation from
outdated self to new.
As if in the fount of youth
they had bathed.
Young and newly born.
Energy coursed in venously,
their skin oily and acne prone,
the senses itched to relieve
the self of unnecessary
visceral baggage.
A process began.


The Prince’s self image was now that of an androgynous youth. Years had been shed, and some adolescent angst accompanied the process. It was all part of an evolution and a becoming into their own person hood. There were a multitude of steps to consider. The path was a daunting one. Each step required informed consent, and sometimes upon enquiry, they disdained dwelling on too much information. On the other hand, this was what documentary makers wanted to show. They wanted to film, even in the operating theatre and bathroom, insisting on filming the Prince shaving, although they were intent on a beard.
