The life and (st)- ages of the Rainbow King

This series refers loosely to the Seven Ages of Man, a la "As You Like It" by William Shakespeare, but more than 7 paintings have developed, as this life deals with complex issues. It was a topic, I first broached in Year One of my BA at Bradford College. Being a keen portrait artist, I view this series as a portrait of a life. The content is semi-autobiographical and edited, in order to discourage prurient interest. It is meant to be helpful to others, who may be confounded by these issues, and so is not pinned to a definite point in time and place, rather, it deals with emotional responses. The images are there more to pose questions, rather than answer them. The life lived was a difficult one. Each image has a script, open for interpretation by the viewer.
